Know all men by these presents that I Sarah Jones of Savannah widow out of natural love and affection to my Great Grand Daughter Sarah Jones Grimes, do hereby give and deliver to her use, a Negro woman called [Menda], formerly the property of Mrs. [C?] Grimes, wife of Dr. John Grimes, and from Mrs Grimes I purchased the negro for the benefit of her child; [ ] the said Negro Menda and her [ ] to my said Great Grand Child as aforesaid as the proper Negro I [ ] with [ ] shared my Great Grand child before marriage, or of legal age, then the said Nnegro, to such Child, or children as my Grand Daughter [Mrs Francis?], may hereafter have— and for no other use interest or purpose whatever— warranting the said Negro for the uses aforesaid witness my hand and seal this day of March 1811

Thomas W Roodman engine being sworn saith he was present + did see Mrs. S Jones widow execute this deed + with P.D. [Woolhotter] did [subscribeth] same as witnesses. Thos. [ Robman]
