ED TINSLEY COLLECTION
The collection includes a typewritten and audio diary (on CD-ROM), Portrait of a
Disaster, chronicling the destruction in Nelson County, Va., from Hurricane Camille in
1969. Also included are video diaries (on videotape and video DVD-ROM) of the
demolition of Williams Viaduct in Lynchburg, Va., first opened in 1919, and the
construction of the replacement John Lynch Memorial Bridge, which opened in 1988.
Also included are photographs and PowerPoint presentations of the building of Tara, the
Tinsley home in Amherst County, Va., constructed from materials from the demolished
Boys Building of the Odd Fellows Home in Lynchburg.
Also included is a collection of photographs of the damage done by Hurricane
Camille, as well as more recent photographs of the same areas (on DVD) and the Camille
40th Anniversary program held at the Nelson County High School, 20 August 2009 (on
DVD).
