MAMMOTH MINING COMPANY, INC., STOCK CERTIFICATES
The collection consists of four stock certificates from the Mammoth Mining
Company, Inc., issued to Frank C. Foster, Lynchburg, Va.

MAMMOTH MINING COMPANY, INC.
The Mammoth Mining Company was incorporated in Lynchburg, Va., on August
31, 1917, with a capital stock of $250,000 (Certificate 16014). The company was
involved with pyrite mining in Paulding County, Georgia. Pyrite was used in the
manufacture of sulphuric acid. The principal officers were Emanuel Goodman, president,
D. M. (Dennie M.) Thomasson, secretary, with Thomas Marcom of Hiram, Georgia,
manager. The company held options on 120 acres of land near the Little Bob Mine in
Paulding County. According to the Virginia State Coporation Commission, the
Mammoth Mining Company, Inc., allowed its charter to be revoked as of May 31, 1924,
for failure to pay the annual registration fee assessed against it for the two preceding
years.
