WARNER BROTHERS INVITATION, 1950
This item is a single invitation from Warner Brothers to attend premier performance of
the Warner Theatre in Lynchburg, Virginia. Lawrence H. McWane, executive secretary of the
Chamber of Commerce delivered the dedicatory speech at the opening on 22 August 1950. The
former Trenton Theater at 1100-1102 Main Street had been remodeled on the exterior and
interior to create the Warner Theatre.

McWane to dedicate new Warner Theater
Lawrence H. McWane, Chamber of Commerce executive secretary, will deliver a short dedicatory speech
tonight to mark the formal opening of Lynchburg’s new Warner Theater, according to Henry A. Clark, manager.
The interior and exterior of the building, formerly known as the Trenton, has been completely remodeled.
The opening ceremonies will be followed by the first night movie starring Dennis Morgan and Patsy Drake
in Pretty Baby. A Bugs Bunny cartoon and a Warner-Pathe newsreel are also on the program.
