Collection consists of one stock certificate, No. NU11804, for 95 shares from the All-State
Credit Corporation, Inc., issued to Hayden, Stone & Company, Inc., Feb. 24, 1964.
ALL-STATE CREDIT CORPORATION
The All-State Credit Corporation was incorporated in New York in 1936. The company
operated a sales finance company, specializing in the purchase of conditional sales contracts from
furniture and appliance dealers throughout the metropolitan New York City area. It also engaged
in commercial financing, on automobile and commercial equipment, as well as advancing funds
to business concerns secured by liens against inventory and other collateral. At the issuing of this
certificate, the principal officers were Sidney M. Vine, president, and Ira W. Berman, secretary.
HAYDEN, STONE & COMPANY, INC.
Hayden, Stone & Co., Inc., was a major securities firm founded in 1892 by Charles Hayden
and Galen L. Stone. Hayden, Stone & Co. was acquired by Cogan, Berlind, Weill and Levitt in
1972 and, after its name disappeared in 1979, was part of what would become Shearson/American
Express in 1981.
