TILDEN, WINFREE, IVEY FAMILY NOTES (1762-1904)
The volume contains handwritten notes of births, deaths, and marriages for
several families of Lynchburg, Va. The notes are written in a small calendar notebook
from the Helme & McIlhaney Company. The writer of the notes is unknown, but
perhaps is a member of the Winfree family. Thaddeus H. Ivey, treasurer of the
Lynchburg Gas Light Company married Mary Cornelia Winfree. The Helme &
McIlhaney Company of Philadelphia, Penn., specialized in the manufacture of natural gas
meters.
