HILDA LUDWICKE FORSBERG DAVIS (1880-1979) WORSHIP MATERIALS
The collection includes a program of leadership education, texts for worship services,
and inspirational poems from various publications collected by Hilda Ludwicke
(FORSBERG) DAVIS, a member of Court Street United Methodist Church, in
Lynchburg, Virginia.
HILDA LUDWICKE FORSBERG DAVIS (1880-1879)
Hilda Ludwicke FORSBERG, daughter of Ludwig August FORSBERG and Mary
Elizabeth MORGAN, was born 8 October 1880 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She graduated
from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg and taught music and geometry
in the Lynchburg public schools.
Hilda FORSBERG married 7 November 1914, in Lynchburg, John Henry DAVIS, son
of John H. DAVIS and Mary PANNELL of Bassett, Virginia.
A member of Court Street United Methodist Church, Mrs. DAVIS was active in many
church organizations. She was also president of the Old Dominion Chapter, United
Daughters of the Confederacy.
Hilda Ludwike (FORSBERG) DAVIS died 7 March 1979 and was buried in the
Presbyterian Cemetery in Lynchburg.
