families compiled by Marietta Boise (SHAFER) FUQUA of Lynchburg, Virginia. Also

MARIETTA BOICE SHAFER FUQUA (1894-1935)
Marietta Boice SHAFER, daughter of Woolsey Boice SHAFER and Marietta
MARSHALL, was born ca. 1894 at Berkley, Norfolk County, Virginia. She married ca.
1926-1927 Fred Bond FUQUA, son of Benjamin Bowles FUQUA and Willie Frances
GARDNER of Bedford County, Virginia. They moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, where
her husband operated his construction business.
In 1931, Marietta S. FUQUA, a member of the Matthew French Chapter, Daughters of
the American Revolution, in Princeton, West Virginia, transferred to the newly-formed
James River Chapter in Lynchburg. She was appointed chairman of the Genealogical
Research Committee in 1931.
A member of the Larchmont Methodist Church in Norfolk, Virginia, Marietta Boice
(SHAFER) FUQUA died 26 April 1935 at her home in Lynchburg, and was buried in the
Magnolia Cemetery in Norfolk.
