individual, a copy of the will of Julia W. Ivey (2020), two books of family recipes, a note from
signed by Clara Barton, and two journals of a cross-country trip to California by William Maitland
and Julia P. Ivey (June through October 1926)

JULIA WINSTON IVEY (1928-2020)
Julia Winston Ivey was born 1 July 1928 in Lynchburg, Virginia, the daughter of William
Maitland Ivey and Julia Price. An accomplished pianist, she studied with Sascha Gorodnitzki of
the Julliard School and later toured Europe, performing concerts in Switzerland, Germany and
Belgium. She taught music at Shipley School and Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania,
and many private students. Miss Ivey died 15 September 2020 in Lynchburg and was buried in the
Presbyterian Cemetery.
