Description

Digital reproduction of a two-page letter and six-page questionnaire sent by Bernice Lloyd Bell to Josephine Wingfield at Jones Memorial Library in May 1962.

Bell, a graduate student at Atlanta University, wrote to Wingfield to request participation in a survey about "Integration in Public Library Services in Thirteen Southern States, 1954-1961." Wingfield served as head librarian for Jones Memorial Library at the time.

The accompanying questionnaire appears to have been completed by Wingfield.

The original letter and questionnaire are held in physical format at Jones Memorial Library in Lynchburg, Virginia.
