CONFEDERATE PAPERS
The collection includes papers collected by D.D. McConville, who gave them to the
Garland-Rodes Camp, Confederate Veterans (Lynchburg, VA). These were later passed
on to the Kirkwood Otey Chapter, U.D.C. (Lynchburg, VA), which donated the
collection to JML.

1-1 Papers related to the Garland-Rodes Camp, Confederate Veterans: a
list of members in 1918; a list of Confederate veterans in the
Lynchburg area; 2 copies of a printed photograph of John W.
Daniel; an invitation from the Garland-Rodes Camp to a 1904
meeting in Lynchburg of the Grand Camp, Confederate
Veterans; a 1909 letter from Geo. Wise to W.M. Seay, of
Lynchburg, VA regarding Co. H of the 11th VA Infantry.
1-2 Originals of various letters, orders, etc. between various officers
during the Civil War. Most involve Gen. Kemper and include
notes signed by Generals J.E.B. Stuart and Pickett. Each piece is
numbered, and there is an accompanying guide.
1-3 Photocopies of the items in 1-2. A typescript of the guide to the notes
is included.
