LYNCHBURG FEMALE ACADEMY CERTIFICATES FOR MALLIE
BOHANNON
The collection includes a monthly report for Mallie Bohannon [1 Nov. 1869], a
certificate of distinction in English Analysis, and a certificate of proficiency in several
subjects. Both certificates are also for Miss Bohannon and are dated 1872. The
documents are signed by teachers, Kate H. Hobson, L.W. Moseley, K.H. Miller, and also
by S.S. Ramsey and P.B. Ambler, principals.

MALLIE BOHANNON (1856-1930)
Mallie Bohannon was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, on 19 August 1856. She was the
daughter of Dr. Miles Ring and Martha Louise Akers Bohannon. Miss Bohannon
married Edward Tarpley Krebbs, son of Samuel and Anna Louisa Krebbs, on 19 October
1880. Mr. Krebbs was a native of Richmond but a resident of Lynchburg and a
telegrapher.
Mrs. Mallie Bohannon Krebbs died on 15 September 1930, in Lynchburg, Virginia,
and was buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
