FRIENDS OF THE LYNCHBURG PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Friends of the Lynchburg Public Library was organized in 1964, under the
leadership of James DODD of Babcock & Wilcox, to seek the establishment of the
Lynchburg Public Library. The Friends group has continued to actively support the
Library, with contributions for books and materials, library furniture, adult programs, and
summer reading programs for elementary school children. In addition to local support,
the group also serves as an advocate for the library on local, state, and national levels.
