ANNE CLARK MARSHALL HUSTON
Anne Clark Marshall was born in High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina, on 22
September 1929, the daughter of George Fox Marshall and Anne Beryl Clark. She was educated
at the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and received the Doctor of Education degree at
the University of Virginia. She worked as a school teacher, reading consultant, and coordinator of
Science Enrichment Program for Williamsburg-James City County school system. Later, she
became professor of education and human development and director of the reading clinic at the
University of Lynchburg. Anne married Dr. James A. Huston in Bedford County, Virginia on t
June 1983.
Anne was a writer of several professional books and numerous articles and reviews for
professional journals. She received the Distinguished Faculty Scholar award at the University of
Lynchburg. She was also member of hereditary societies including DAR and UDC.
