DIARY OF ELIZA McDANIEL 1935
This is the diary of a teenager in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1935. The “Everyday
Diary” was a Christmas gift from Dorothy Hines. Entries begin on January 1, 1935, and
continue until January 22, 1935. The entries concern her activities at home and at school.

ELIZABETH HARRIS McDANIEL (1921-1999)
Elizabeth Harris McDaniel, “Eliza”, was born 19 November 1921 in Lynchburg,
Virginia, the daughter of Ellis Bibb McDaniel and Inez Roseman Clark. She was
educated in Lynchburg, at Farmville State Teachers College (now Longwood College),
and at Lynchburg College. She worked at Appalachian Power Company and Millners
Department Store. She married Earl Randolph Blankenship.
Eliza McDaniel Blankenship died 19 April 1999 in Lynchburg and is buried in
Spring Hill Cemetery.
