GENERAL ELECTRIC WIVES CLUB PAPERS
The collection consists of minutes of meetings, newsletters, and miscellaneous reports
of the club. The club, originally called the General Electric Engineers Wives Club, was a
social group composed of the wives of men working at the Lynchburg, Virginia, facility
of General Electric.
In 1958, a group of interested wives organized the club for the purpose of providing
"an organization for the social and educational advancement of its members and to
encourage participation in community activities." The club was disbanded in 1986.
