ROSA McWANE BARKSDALE
Rosa McWane BARKSDALE, daughter of Dr. Elisha BARKSDALE and Rose
Drummond McWANE, was born 31 July 1920, in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was
educated at the National Cathedral School in Washington, D. C., and at Sweet Briar
College in Amherst County, Virginia. She married (1) 24 October 1938, Shuler
Anderson KIZER, of Lynchburg, son of David Hampton KIZER and Lucille BULLOCK,
from whom she was divorced in Dade County, Florida, on 28 June 1946. She married (2)
ca. 1947 Ben Carlton HALL, son of Shelton HALL, from whom she was divorced before
1953. She married (3) 6 March 1953, George Stewart WHALEY, Jr., son of George
Stewart WHALEY and Gladys Margaret GIVENS, of Covington County, Alabama, in
Lynchburg, Virginia. Nothing further is known at present.

JEANNE BARKSDALE
Jeanne BARKSDALE, daughter of Dr. Elisha BARKSDALE and Rose Drummond
McWANE, was born 15 January 1923, in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was educated at St.
Catherine's School, Richmond, Virginia, and completed a secretarial course at the
Marjorie Webster School, Washington, D. C. She was appointed secretary to the head
hostess at the guest house at Camp Pickett, Virginia, and served until she returned to
Lynchburg. She married St. George Ambler BROWN, son of John Willcox BROWN
and Emily Page AMBLER, of Lynchburg, on 9 February 1944. She was also a member
of the Junior League of Lynchburg and the Spinsters Club. Nothing further is known at
present.
