LYNCHBURG CHAPTER, DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
The Lynchburg Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, was organized 14
January 1909, with Mrs. W. M. STROTHER as first regent. The work of the Chapter has
included marking of historic spots, including the first house and first ferry in Lynchburg,
the grave of Maria Ball TUCKER, and the birthplace of Mary Ellet CABELL, one of the
founders of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The
Chapter has also made awards to local school students in connection with study of early
American history.
