MILLARD KESSLER BUSHONG (1912-1994)
Millard Kessler Bushong was born in Charles Town, West Virginia, 1 February 1912.
He received an A.B. degree from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, later acquiring
both the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from West Virginia University. His teaching positions
included universities in Virginia, West Virginia, New York, and he was a Fulbright
teacher in England.
Dr. Bushong is the author of many articles and three books, including Old Jube: A
Biography of General Jubal A. Early and two works concerning Jefferson County, West
Virginia. He has served on the West Virginia Antiquities Commission and the
Governor's Board of Review.
Dr. Bushong died 9 July 1994 in Waynesboro, Virginia.
