Charles C. BUCK, confectioner, was in business in Lynchburg, Virginia, prior to 2
July 1870. Born in Maine, it is not known when he arrived in Lynchburg. [1870 Census,
Campbell County, VA, National Archives and Records Service, M-593, Roll 1638, Household 27, Family
66. According to the census, his personal estate was valued at $6000.]

Charles C. BUCK was a wholesale dealer in confectionery, fruits, etc. According to
an advertisement, he was a cake and cracker baker and a candy maker. [Lynchburg City
Directory for 1881–'82 (Lynchburg: J. P. Bell, 1881), p. 28.]

Charles C. BUCK last appears in the city directory of 1899 as a candy maker residing
at the corner of Eighth and Main Streets in Lynchburg. [Walsh's Directory for the City of
Lynchburg (Lynchburg: J. P. Bell, 1899), p. 196.] Nothing further is known at present.
