State of South Carolina.

Know all Men by these Presents, That
I Thomas Fuller of the town of Beaufort [crossed out]
Physician
for and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred Dollars
to me in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these
presents, by James Potter of Coleraine Geo.
(the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge) have bargained and sold,
and by these presents do bargain, sell and deliver to the said
James Potter a negro man named
Abraham
to have and to hold the said negro man Abraham
unto the said James Potter his ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Executors, Administrators and Assigns: to him and his only proper use and
behoof forever. And I the said
Thomas Fuller my ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Executors and Administrators, the said bargained premises, unto the said
James Potter his
Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, from and against all persons, shall and
will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal Dated at
on the Fourteenth day of March
Beaufort in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Thirty four and in the year of the Independence of the United States of America.

The negro Abraham, for whom this bill of sale was given to James Potter, was paid for by [W./M/] Williamson & charged to Plantation Exhensy - thus becoming one of the number belonging jointly to James & Thomas F Potter in the division of negros on 2nd Feby [February] 1837 he fell to the share of Thomas F Potter and I have now no claim upon him
