SARAH ANN WARWICK HALSEY (1845-1918) LETTERS
The collection includes a letter to Mrs. HALSEY from Gilbert B. WALDEN, 10 May
1888, about his visit to Lynchburg. There is also included a note from Clara BARTON,
Washington, D.C., dated 14 March 1891, about Mrs. HALSEY's class visiting her. Miss
BARTON also wrote a poem and inscribed it to the class. Elizabeth H. JACOBS also
wrote to Mrs. HALSEY, 6 July 1910, expressing her condolences at the death of Mrs.
HALSEY's brother. Virginia C. HETH, of Blacksburg, Virginia, wrote inviting Mrs.
HALSEY to share a house with her.
SARAH ANN WARWICK HALSEY (1845-1918)
Sarah Ann Warwick DANIEL, daughter of Judge William DANIEL, Jr., and Sarah
Ann WARWICK, was born 20 June 1845, in Lynchburg, Virginia. She married 7 March
1866 Don Peters HALSEY in Lynchburg. A member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church,
Mrs. HALSEY died 16 July 1918 and was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery.
