GEORGE HENRY WILKINSON (1889–
) COLLECTION
The collection includes financial, employment and insurance receipts, medical
receipts, correspondence, Christmas cards, toys and mementos, a Holmes Fourth Reader
published in 1894, a small religious book, probably from that same era, mementos from
College Hill Baptist Church, calendars, and many photographs and accompanying
negatives which are undated and whose subjects are unidentified. Also included in the
collection is a “Surgeon’s Certificate of Exemption” for George W. Goode, dated August
16, 1864.

GEORGE HENRY WILKINSON (1889–
)
George Henry Wilkinson, son of B.H. Wilkinson, was born in 1889. He was
employed in Lynchburg, Virginia in various occupations throughout his life. He worked
for the Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation, was a painter, a florist, and was employed as a
machinist at the Blue Buckle Overall Company.
