Letter from “Martha” to “My dearest mother” complaining that no one has written to her.
She also goes on to discuss all the gifts received from cousins. The letter is addressed to “Mrs.
Absalom Row, Greenfield.”

MARTHA JANE ROWE WILLIAMS (1828-1855)
Martha Rowe Williams, the daughter of Absalom Rowe and Nancy Estes, was born 9 June
1828 at Greenfield, Spotsylvania Co, Virginia. She married 17 December 1850 in Spotsylvania
County, James Tompkins Williams of Lynchburg, Virginia. Martha died on 13 February 1855
and was buried in Presbyterian Cemetery, Lynchburg.
