The collection includes constitution and bylaws, correspondence, minutes, membership
rosters, and one photograph.

LYNCHBURG SPORTS CLUB (1948-1952)
The Lynchburg Sports Club was organized about 1948 with the stated object of providing
an efficient organization for the advancement of sports and athletics in general. The membership
was open to “male persons” eighteen years of age or over, living or working in and around the
vicinity of Lynchburg. The membership included coaches, businessmen, and educators. The Club
met weekly on Mondays. By 1952, the Club President sent out an appeal to the membership asking
for increased attendance at the meetings. It is not known if the appeal was successful.
