MOLLIE HOOVER LETTERS, 1887-1888
The collection includes two letters to Mollie Hoover, of Swoope(s), Augusta Co.,
Virginia. One written in Waynesboro, VA; the other, in University, Virginia, and is
signed by Emma. Four envelopes addressed to Miss Mollie Hoover are also included. In
addition, one envelope was addressed to Mr. J. Frank Hoover. Two of the envelopes
were postmarked in Staunton, VA; two others, in Waynesborough, Virginia. One
envelope has no cancellation marks on it. [Photocopies of the letters and envelopes are
included.]
MOLLIE F. HOOVER (c.1864-post1888)
Mollie Hoover, of Augusta County, VA, may have been the daughter of Frank and
Mary Hoover. The 1880 census shows a daughter, Mary F. Hoover, aged 6 years, in the
household of a Frank & Mary Hoover. [1880 U.S. Census, Augusta County, VA, p.109, National
Archives Microfilm T-9, Roll 1354.] One of the envelopes in the collection is addressed to Mr.
J. Frank Hoover.
