This indenture made this thirtieth day of January in the year our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and fifty four
Between Robert F. Stockton and Richard S. Field of the State of New Jersey and James Potter of the County of Chatham in the state of Georgia, Executors of the last will and testament of Thomas F. Potter, deceased, of the first part, and John D. Langhorne of the County of Chatham and State of Georgia of the second part:—
Witnesseth that whereas Thomas F. Potter late of the County of Mercer in the State of new Jersey, departed this life sometime in the month of September Eighteen Hundred and fifty three posesed of large real and personal Estates, amongst which was all that plantation called Tweedside situate on Tide Water in the County of Chatham and State of Georgia about six miles from the city of Savannah more particularly described hereafter with all the improvements thereon and the Slaves thereon amounting in number to two hundred and twelve hereinafter named and other property hereinafter more particularly described having first made and executed his last Will and Testament appointing Robert F. Stockton, Richard S. Field and James Potter the Executors, thereof, in which said last Will and Testament amongst other things he the said Thomas F. Potter gave to the said Executors and the survivor and survivors of them full power and authority to sell and convey in fee simple the whole or any portion of my real estate not herein specifically devised and also to sell and dispose of any part of my personal estate whenever in their judgment it may be advisable to do so –
And whereas also, at the January term of the Superior Court of the County of Chatham on a Bill filed on the Equity side of said court wherein the said Robert F. Stockton and Richard S. Field qualified Executors in the State of New Jersey were complainants and James Potter the qualified Executor in the State of Georgia was defendant it was amongst other things ordered adjudged and decreed that the said James Potter the sole qualified Executor in the State of Georgia of the last Will and

Testament of Thmoas F. Potter deceased unite with the Complainants Robert F. Stockton and Richard S. Potter deceased as aforesaid by virtue of the power vested in them by the will aforesaid, and under the authority of the aforesaid decree, and for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy three thousand five hundred and thirty four dollars and fifty cents cash [tothes in hand] paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) Have granted, bargained, aliened, remised, abased, confirmed and sold, and by these presents Do grant, bargain, alien, remise, release, convey and confirm and sell unto the said John D. Before me, Winthrop Sargent, a Commissioner resident in the city of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, duly appointed by the Governor of Georgia to take acknowledgements of deeds etc. to be recorded in the state of Georgia, personally appeared upon the thirtieth day of January, Anno Domini Eighteen Hundred and fifty four, at the city aforesaid, the within named Robert F. Stockton and Richard S. Field, Executors of the last will and testament of Thomas F. Potter, deceased, who did acknowledge the within written instrument to be their and each of their act and deed, and desired that the same weight be recorded as such according to law.
